The new Chevrolet Cruze cruises into Singapore this year
What: Cruze sedan When: First Half How Much: TBA
While the US has received a new ‘global’ Cruze with a 1.4-litre direct-injection ‘Ecotec’ turbocharged engine, us in the region have to make do with a more mildly refreshed version of Chevy’s everyday sedan.
It retains the existing 1.4 turbo with 140bhp, but there’s also a new 1.6-litre, non-turbo. The 1.6-litre has 116bhp and consumers 7.2L/100km, reaching 100km/h from zero in 12.5 seconds.
Both engines use a six-speed automatic transmission.
On the outside, the front end has double daytime running lights and projector headlamps, while the split grille design has remained, the Chevrolet bowtie badge has been shifted upwards and there are also new Malibu-inspired tail lamps.
A station wagon version will also follow later in 2016.
