Boon Siew Honda launches the new CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade superbike, and Africa Twin CRF1100 in Singapore

SINGAPORE

A warm Saturday evening didn’t do much to dampen the mood for Honda motorcycle enthusiasts and owners alike, as the Boon Siew Honda – Singapore’s official Honda bike distributor launched two bikes.

The CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade puts out 220hp (160kW) and 113Nm, from its inline-four 1,000cc short stroke engine.

Rider’s benefit from a new third-generation Öhlins Smart Electronic suspension setup, while stopping power is courtesy of a high-performance Brembo brake system. The front utilises Brembo’s radial-mount 4-piston Stylema R calliper system. The bike features Cornering ABS, with three modes – STANDARD,TRACK and RACE. The CBR’s steering also gets sorted out through Showa’s 3-level Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD).

Honda Africa Twin CRF1100 Adventure Sport
Improvements to the Honda Africa Twin CRF1100 are not just restricted to visual updates, but also to how Honda’s dual sport bike rides. The CRF1100’s engine receives tweaks to its valve timing, and now boasts larger air intakes. With these improvements, while it retains the same 101hp (75kW) output, the new Africa Twin has a 7-percent improvement in torque, which is now rated at 112Nm. The improvements translate to improved delivery within the lower and mid rev ranges of the parallel twin engine.

The Africa Twin Adventure Sport features five suspension damping modes – SOFT, MID, HARD, OFF-ROAD and USER; which provides riders with the flexibility of selecting the optimum mode, for varying riding situations. For added versatility, the Africa Twin has four dedicated accessory packs – Rally, Adventure, Urban and Travel; which Honda says, include up to 128-litres of luggage, additional chassis protection and low seat options.
