Spray this stuff on and it could well save your life one dark night...
What’s this? Volvo LifePaint. It is, says the carmaker, “a unique illuminating safety paint which is invisible by daylight, but in the dark reflects light in the same direction as the light source, shining brightly to illuminate the objects it has been sprayed on.”
What does that mean, exaclty? It’s a reflective spray. It’s invisible in the day, but at night it’s brighter than a Colgate model’s smile.
Nice. What’s it for? Volvo reckons bicyclists should spray it on and light up at night, so as to become more visible and less killable by dozy drivers.
Cool! Where can I get some? Volvo dealer Wearnes Automotive has brought in some.
How much? Don’t know. Hopefully a lot, because the last time it went on sale in London, it sold out in hours.
No, I mean how much for the LifePaint? Oh, that. The Singapore price for Volvo LifePaint is $48. That's under review, though. Watch this space.
How long does it last? Not all that long, we’d expect. Volvo reckons about a week. It’s actually washable, and comes off with soap.
Aiya, so I have to keep applying it? Yup, but dude, it's paint. You don't want paint on your clothes permanently. Anyway you can’t put a price on safety, can you?
