Updated BMW M4 Competition Coupe and Convertible unveiled in Singapore

SINGAPORE

BMW Asia has unveiled the updated M4 Competition. This time, BMW M here offers the M4 Comp as a Coupe and a Convertible. While everybody already knows the grille, what is important today is twenty more horsepower. But also, very importantly, to set the re-worked M4 apart from the pre-facelift car, there also are a few design enhancements.

The LCI BMW M4 introduces updated head and tail lights, tweaking its appearance with a notably more contemporary aesthetic. The revamped daytime running light signature is now vertically oriented as compared to the previous car’s half-hexigons. The new lights also incorporate Adaptive LEDs with laser technology. At the rear, the new tail light cluster is simply lifted right off the BMW M4 CSL.

TRACK…

Rims are staggered 19-inch M forged light alloy wheels at the front and a larger 20-inch affair at the rear. An optional double-spoke design is also available, for the first time, in silver finish. To keep things sporty within the cockpit, a new flat-bottomed M steering wheel complete with a red-centre mark at the 12 o’clock position.

Like with the updated 3 Series range, the new dashboard features a single-panel curved screen, which houses a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. The infotainment is powered by BMW’s new(er) Operating System 8.5. This system includes its voice-activated BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which enhances the overall user experience.

Under the bonnet, the signature 3.0-litre in-line six boasts an increase of 20hp. Figures are now 530hp and 650Nm. The coupe does 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds, the Convertible in 3.7 seconds. Both models have an electronically-governed top speed of 250km/h.

The BMW M4 Competition Coupe retails at S$594,888 while the BMW M4 Competition Convertible at S$616,888.
