Chinese motorcycle brand CFMoto debuts in Singapore with a full lineup from Class 2B to 2, that promise European/Japanese level quality for less cash
SINGAPORE – Singapore’s newest motorcycle brand is Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto.
You’ve probably never heard of the name, but abroad CFMoto has made a name for itself as the most premium of the Chinese motorcycle brands, concentrating on larger-capacity motorcycles with European design flair. Here in Singapore, it’s raising eyebrows by offering premium-spec motorcycles for significantly smaller pricetags than mainstream Japanese motorcycle brands.
CFMoto saw its official debut on Saturday, April 22, 2022, where it unveiled a brand new showroom located at 3006 Ubi Rd 1, #01-364, Singapore 408700. The new showroom has approximately 1,000 square feet of display/retail area, includes bike displays, accessories and merchandise, and a service area.
The brand is distributed/represented by motorcycle dealership Yew Heng Group, which also holds the dealership for motorcycle brands Royal Alloy, Royal Enfield, and MV Agusta.
At the new showroom, CFMoto debuted a wide-ranging lineup of nine models that includes sportsbikes, naked streetbikes, adventure tourers, and bikes which are Class 2B, Class 2A, and Class 2 licence eligible. You can check out the full lineup at https://www.cfmoto.com.sg/
The majority of the brand’s models are on sale here – see a full listing on its global site – and a list of the Singapore models below.
The model lineup has a clear naming logic, thankfully: NK for naked streetbikes, SR for Sports Racing or sportsbikes, GT for sporty tourers, and MT for adventure-styled tourers. It also has a neo-retro styled bike, the CL-X.
“CFMoto aims to deliver excellent value for money to Singaporean motorcyclists. We are very confident in the product and the reliability, and that’s why we have no qualms backing the bikes with a five-year warranty,” Andrew Sin, the general manager for CFMoto Singapore, told CarBuyer.
CFMoto Singapore is offering an industry standard ‘3+2’ warranty, or three years factory warranty and two additional years warranty from the dealer.

The 300SR, as a 300cc sportsbike, is competing against the very popular Yamaha R3, which costs around S$22k with a COE, while the 650NK competes against the Yamaha MT-07, which retails at around S$28k with a COE.
The most expensive motorcycle CFMoto currently has, the 800 MT Touring adventure bike, at S$38,500 OTR, is significantly cheaper than midweight adventure bikes such as the KTM 790 Adventure, Yamaha Tenere 700, and Honda Africa Twin.
While we will leave our final verdict for an actual test ride of the bikes, our examination of the motorcycles at the launch event showed a high level of build quality, neatly organised wiring, and solid equipment/component lists.
For example, the 800 MT Touring packs: riding modes, LED lights (mainbeam, cornering lights, fog lights, turn signals), ride-by-wire throttle, 7.0-inch TFT display, adjustable suspension, J.Juan (under the Brembo group) brakes with cornering ABS, up-down quickshift, heated seat and grips, tyre pressure monitoring, and a slipper clutch, plus aluminium panniers and topbox.
Our first impressions? These motorcycles are less expensive than their competitors, yet don’t look or feel cheap, and bear lots of features motorcyclists should expect from their steeds in 2022.
CFMoto was established in 1989 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, and got its start in powersports, building ATVs and small, four-wheeled off-road vehicles. The ‘CF’ in the name stands for ‘Chun Feng’ part of the company’s original, full Chinese name.
Currently, the company makes around 600,000 vehicles a year. But unlike other Chinese car or motorcycle makers, its overseas focus is on the premium (though not luxury) market, and it has already launched in other markets to some degree of success, including the UK, Australia, USA, and Europe.
It’s able to achieve that thanks to key technology and design tie-ups: It has ties to the Pierer Group (which owns KTM, Husqvarna, and Gasgas) which has enabled it to be a licensed producer of KTM engines, and CFMoto’s motorcycles are designed by the same design house as KTM and Husqvarna, the Pierer-owned Kiska Design. Case in point is the 800 MT series, which has a CFMoto built, licensed version of the LC8 parallel twin engine as found in the KTM 790 series of bikes. It also has a 1250 engine model, based on KTM’s own 1290 V-Twin that powers its flagship bikes including the 1290 Adventure and 1290 Super Duke R.
“CFMoto’s motorcycles have a Chinese heart, but they also have European and Japanese-inspired quality and components that motorcyclists a lot for the price,” said Anthony Selvam, CFMoto Singapore’s brand ambassador.
A decade ago, we saw Chinese car brands try and fail to corner the budget end of the market by being the most affordable things around. Now, Chinese motor makers have taken a different tack and gone ‘premium affordable’, like MG which taps its UK heritage and has become one of the more successful EV brands on sale here thanks to a combination of good styling, equipment levels, and sensible pricing. It looks like CFMoto could emulate that success in the two-wheeled world.
