The Riders Aid Singapore rallied together some 700 riders last weekend raising more than S$30,000 for the Singapore Children’s Cancer Foundation with DPM Lawrence Wong as the guest-of-honour

Last Sunday (August 14, 2022), Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong rode a Royal Enfield Classic 500 motorcycle as part of a convoy to raise funds for the Singapore Children’s Cancer Foundation organised by Riders Aid Singapore (RAS).

He also posted a video on his TikTok account which has since garnered 15,000 likes to date. The convoy of some 700 motorheads flagged off from Tampines Heavy Vehicle Carpark at about 1 pm showing their support for a good cause.

Besides his well-known affinity for guitars, DPM Wong also holds Class 2, 2A, and 2B licences which he picked up when he was a student in the United States. At one point in his life, he once owned a Suzuki street bike and a scooter for a period of time which he used to shuttle to and fro work.

Upon finding out about the event, he said that he was “glad to have the opportunity to ride with Riders Aid Singapore this time to support a good cause.”

DPM Wong autographed the motorcycle that was used during the event which will be kept as a display piece in Royal Enfield’s dealership in Ubi.

President of Riders Aid Singapore, Mr Suriya Kumar said about S$30,000 has been raised so far from the event. And as a token of appreciation, Mr Kumar presented DPM Wong with a painting of him with a motorcycle.
