Mercedes-EQ’s latest new model to hit Singapore is the E-Class-sized EQE, with the EQE 350+ boasting up to 669km of range and a price tag of S$396,888 with COE

Mercedes-EQ has continued its onslaught of electric car launches in Singapore in 2022, and the latest to join the line-up is the EQE. The E-Class-sized electric sedan is the fourth Mercedes-EQ model to arrive in Singapore this year, and brings the Mercedes-EQ line-up to six model strong locally.

The initial launch model available for now is the EQE 350+, which retails for S$396,888 inclusive of COE. The car’s official launch date is actually the end of October, and Mercedes-EQ will also announce other variants of the EQE ‘at a later date’.

In essence, the EQE effectively looks like a smaller EQS, with a similar-looking style with its sleek profile that has been designed for ultimate aerodynamic efficiency. It is actually not much smaller than the EQS, with the EQE measuring in at just a touch under 5 metres in length, as illustrated in the table below.

The standout design elements on the EQE 350+ is the AMG Line exterior package with the smoothed out ‘grille’ that’s dotted with the Mercedes three-pointed star icon, while the 20-inch AMG five-spoke alloy wheels have been aerodynamically designed to deliver maximum aero efficiency.

It’s a similar story inside, with the EQE’s interior basically mirroring that of the EQS. including the 12.8-inch portrait oriented infotainment touchscreen that incorporates the MBUX operating system. The Hyperscreen layout that spans across the dashboard is not available for the EQS 350+ here, but will be made available on higher spec variants that will be launched later.

Other standard features on the EQE 350+ include a 12.3-inch digital driver display panel, active parking assist, Mercedes’ digital light adaptive high beam guidance system, and a driver assistance package that includes functions like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane change assist, and pre-collision brake assist, among others.

Optional extras that customers can spec for the EQE 350+ include a panoramic sunroof (S$8,100), a Burmester 3D surround sound system (S$5,900), a head-up display (S$5,800), and an AMG Line interior package that includes sports seats and a flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel (S$8,400).

The EQE 350+’s electric motor delivers a total output of 292hp and 565Nm of torque, all of which are sent to the rear wheels. This allows the car to go from 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds, and hit a top speed of 210km. The car’s 90.56kWh battery is able to offer a claimed range of between 587km to 669km, and an efficiency figure of 18.4kWh/100km, while charging the car’s battery from 10 to 80 percent via a 170kW DC fast charger will take slightly over half an hour

We put the EQS 450+’s range to the ultimate test!

The EQE wraps up a busy year for Mercedes-EQ in Singapore, but Mercedes-Benz’s electric offshoot will have more to come in the coming year. The seven-seater EQS SUV, essentially the electric equivalent of the gigantic GLS, is earmarked for a launch here early next year, while the brand has also just announced the EQE SUV, with Mercedes-Benz still finalising plans for that car’s arrival in Singapore.
