Ferrari previewed the 296 GTS in Singapore at its full-house F1 pre-party featuring singer Sorn and DJ Jade Rasif

Ferrari celebrated the return of Formula One in Singapore in grand style, by throwing its elaborate pre-race party last night. Against that backdrop, it previewed its latest mean machine, the 296 GTS convertible.

This is the first time we’ve seen the 296 GTS on our shores, but not the first time we’ve seen the car in person: Earlier this year, the car had its regional preview at Sepang Circuit. The car, the open-top version of the 296 GTB coupe, will cost S$1.3-million without a COE or options, and deliveries are expected to start next year.

With 830hp from its electric motor and V6 engine, the 296 GTS is monstrously fast with a 0-100km/h time identical to its coupe sibling (2.9 seconds). We drove the hardtop 296 GTB on Sepang and found it an electrifying experience, and expect the GTS to be little different.

Six Ferraris were on display: Besides the 296 GTS, there was a specially personalised F90 from Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme, the F40, F50, the SF15-T F1 car from the 2015 season, and a 488 Challenge EV GT race car.

For the fast fete, the Italian supercar marque booked an entire block at 26 Dempsey Road – and dubbed it Casa Ferrari – and filled it with Prancing Horses. Approximately 300 guests were in attendance, including VIPs, Ferrari owners, and more. Providing the entertainment was K-Pop singer Sorn, and local DJ/influencer Jade Rasif.
