The largest sustainability festival in Europe has landed in Singapore with Audi as its official founding partner

SINGAPORE

Greentech Festival, a platform for the exchange of the latest ideas and developments in sustainability, has kicked off its first edition in Singapore. Held at Gardens By The Bay from 17-18 November, the festival seeks to bring together businesses and figures driving the latest developments in sustainability around the world. Attendees at previous editions of the festival include figures like primatologist Dr Jane Goodall, and actor Robert Redford.

With Audi as the festival’s official founding partner, Audi Singapore’s Managing Director Markus Schuster was present at the press conference to kick things off, together with co-founders Nico Rosberg and Marco Voight, and Singapore Tourism Board’s Executive Director, Poh Chi Chuan.

At the conference, Mr Schuster spoke of Audi’s own sustainability goals by 2050. “Our own Mission Zero programme is set on four pillars, decarbonisation, water management, resource efficiency, and biodiversity,” shared Mr Schuster, echoing the idea of carbon tunnel vision.

The brand itself aims to reduce half its weight in water consumption by 2035.

Speaking about the choice to take Greentech Festival to Singapore, Marco Voight shared that Gardens By The Bay and Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 fits their “goal of bringing thought leaders together with zero carbon footprint.” The duo also echoed the environmental activism slogan of ‘think global, act local’, sharing that it was important to come to Southeast Asia to exchange solutions and ideas from different regions.

With the festival’s focus on green technologies, the Audi Urbansphere electric concept car is also on display, having been specially flown in for the festival. The car features Level 4 autonomous driving.

Audi has also deployed 10 cars from its electric e-tron range from the e-tron 50 up to the RS e-tron GT to transport speakers and guests to and from Gardens By The Bay.
