The brand secured a prime commercial spot during the Super Bowl showcasing its PHEVs

Super Bowl Sunday is back and among the coveted commercial spots is a minute-long ad from Jeep, a first for the brand, showcasing the electric expansion of its vehicle lineup.
Titled “The Jeep 4xe ‘Electric Boogie’”, the commercial features the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrids as they race through the wilderness, set to a cover of ‘Electric Boogie’.
It opens on the two Jeeps in the wilderness, with the driver switching to electric mode. The music is turned up and it is an modernised version of ‘Electric Boogie’ by Jamaican Reggae recording artist Marcia Griffiths who first recorded it 40 years ago. A remixed version by Miami Sound Machine in the 90s spawned the popular dance we know as the ‘Electric Slide.’ Also featuring on this new track is Grammy Award winning artist Shaggy, along with new artists Jamila Falak, Amber Lee, and Moyann. The song is available on streaming platforms.
“This new campaign showcases our global 4xe electrification portfolio by capturing and celebrating the fun, light-hearted spirit of the Jeep brand,” shares Christian Meunier, CEO of Jeep.
As the vehicles race through the wilderness, animals are enamoured and are shown catching the boogie bug. Bears, dolphins, and bees (oh my) are seen grooving as the Wrangler 4xe zooms through the sand dunes, while a snake is seen on the Grand Cherokee 4xe’s front camera through the infotainment screen.
The world’s fastest running bird, the ostrich, is also seen catching up with the Wrangler 4xe as it races down the road. At the end, the two vehicles are shown plugging in to charge as a final baby goat boogies past them.
Jeep has also captured footage of Ms Griffiths recording this new Electric Boogie together with Shaggy, and will be launched across the brand’s and Shaggy’s social media channels. Jeep is also inviting fans to create their own dances to the song on Tik Tok with the hashtag #Jeep4xeBoogieWoogie.
“We’ve brought ‘Electric Boogie’ into the future with our new generation of 4xe electrified line-up to inspire our drivers and a new generation of listeners through a song and dance that embodies the adventure, spirit, and passion that our consumers hold for the brand,” notes Olivier Francois, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Stellantis. Mr Francois also calls the commercial a ‘natural extension’ of its ‘Earth Odyssey’ spot, a commercial from 2022 that paid homage to the Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Jeep’s first fully electric vehicle, the Avenger, debuted at the Paris Motor Show in October 2022. With a quoted range of 400km, it’s positioned just below the Renegade, Jeep’s smallest model available in Singapore.
The Avenger is the first of four EVs from Jeep, the other three being the Recon, Wagoneer S, and another unnamed EV. The Avenger will arrive in Europe in 2023 with a possible Singapore launch in 2024.
