A 1.6-litre turbocharged GDI engine that works with an electric motor and 1.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack which produces a total of 230hp and 350Nm of torque. 0 to 100km/h would take you 8.8 seconds with a top speed of 193km/h. More importantly, it delivers 5.4L/100km – which gets you 1,240 kilometres on a full tank.

From the cockpit, you’re greeted with a 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment and 12.3-inches for the driver’s display. There’s a wireless smartphone charger to keep wires at bay and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard too.

The Sorento Hybrid comes with a variety of safety systems too – adaptive cruise control, 360 parking monitor, and the Sorento’s unique feature – the Blind-spot view monitor.

Interior-wise, you get a panoramic sunroof, air-con seats for both the driver and passenger seat, third-row air-conditioning, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and retractable rear door sunshade curtain too.

Boot space is so generous, that you practically could go camping inside. The Sorento Hybrid offers 608 litres of room with the third-row seats folded and 1,996 litres when the second row is dropped.
