The three new Yokohama tyres, from its Advan and BluEarth range are aimed at high performance cars, SUVs, and MPVs

Japanese manufacturer Yokohama launched three new tyres at an annual event held by local distributor, YHI International. 

The three tyres, Advan Neova AD09, Advan Sport V107, and BluEarth-RV RV03, are aimed at high performance sports cars, urban SUVs, and MPVs. 

Yokohama Advan Sport V107

Successor to the Advan Sport V105 that was the brand’s top high performance tyre, the V107 maintains its low noise while improving stability and handling in both wet and dry conditions. 

The Advan Sport V107 features a new asymmetrical tread pattern meant to strengthen grip. On the inside, the thick vertical grooves enable water to be drained, strengthening grip in wet conditions with resistance to hydroplaning. 

Meanwhile, on the outside the wide shoulders and greater contact area with the road strengthens grip in dry conditions. 

The V107 also features new Silent sipes to reduce external vehicle noise, and comes equipped in cars like the Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes EQS.

It is available in a range of sizes for 18-23 inch wheels, with profiles of 30 to 55, and widths of 225 to 315. 

Yokohama Advan Neova AD09

The second tyre launched is the Advan Neova AD09, aimed for a mix of both circuit and sporty street usage. The AD09 is the successor to the AD08R, the brand’s extreme performance summer/street tyres.

In a tread pattern combination of the Advan HF Type D and Advan Neova AD08R, the Advan Neova AD09 also carries an asymmetrical tread pattern designed to strengthen grip. It’s also made from a newly developed compound designed to improve wear resistance for long-lasting performance.

Similar to the Advan Sport V107, the inner pattern on the AD09 helps with water dispersion thanks to its wide and rounded grooves along with long lugs. And on the outside, narrow grooves placed close to the inner side ensures maximum contact with the ground. 

The Advan Neova AD09 also supposedly has Yokohama’s highest level of stiffness to date, with the number of cords used increased by 8% and its carcass thickness increased by 9%. 

The AD09 is available for 15 to 20 inch wheels in widths of up to 285.

BluEarth-RV RV03

Yokohama’s efficiency tyre range sees the addition of the BluEarth-RV RV03, targeted towards MPVs. 

The RV03 sees a new tread pattern that reduces uneven wear and wobbling that MPVs are prone to due to their high centre of gravity. 

The new RV03 also carries high rigidity shoulders and sipes and wide ribs to help resist uneven wear by 20% while providing steering stability. 

In addition to the above, the RV03 also has reduced road noise, providing a quieter ride for all passengers in the car.

The RV03 is available for 15 to 20 inch wheels in widths of up to 245.
