Poland’s police force makes the largest order for BMW police motorcycles in its history, for the same bike Singapore’s Traffic Police are also using

BMW Group Polska has just acquired its largest order of BMW police bikes ever.

The Polish police acquired 503 BMW R 1250 RT-P motorcycles outfitted with police equipment and motorcycle suits as part of the “Safer on the Roads” initiative. 25 of them were taken to the Legionowo police training facility outside Warsaw, where new policemen are trained on. The remaining bikes are already operating on Polish roads.

BMW Motorrad Polska and BMW Motorrad dealer Zdunek were responsible for implementing the order. “We are proud of the trust placed in us by the Polish police. We are delighted to be working with such an important institution,” commented Karol Kostrzewa, Director of BMW Motorrad Polska.

The Polish authorities are not the first to have deployed BMW motorbikes to its service fleets, with BMWs being a common choice for European police forces. At home, the Singapore Traffic Police (TP) has also upgraded its fleet from its past Yamaha Diversion XJ900P models in 2019 to the BMW R 1250 RT-P. The new TP bikes are also equipped with a front and back DVR (Digital Video Recording) camera. The Special Operations Command Rapid Deployment Troops also use BMW F 800 GS motorcycles.

The BMW R 1250 RT-P has a reputation for excellent riding comfort and a high degree of safety. This is further bolstered by its wide choice of equipment options for comfort, usefulness and safety that can be added to the basic motorcycle. The Polish police fleet of bikes has been fully equipped to deal with any road emergency, as well as the usual traffic management duties.
