For its 75th anniversary, Porsche has unveiled its Vision 357 concept — an homage to the 356 first created in 1948 by Ferdinand Porsche.
Built on the platform of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, the Vision 357 poses the question ‘what might Ferry Porsche’s dream of a sports car look like today?’
On display for the first time in Berlin at the ‘Driven by Dreams’ exhibition, the Vision 357 features an enhanced light signature in hopes of showing possible future design philosophies.
“It underlines the importance of our design DNA based on the 356. The proportions are reminiscent of the historical model, while details visualise the view into the future,” shares Michael Mauere, Vice President for Style Porsche.
The celebrations don’t stop there, as the ‘Driven by Dreams’ exhibitions runs in Berlin until 10 September, and visitors will be able to learn about the brand’s success story.
This continues in June, where Porsche Germany will kickoff the ‘Festival of Dreams’ at the Hockenheimring, with vehicle exhibitions, themed experiences, and even overnight options. In addition, the 24 Hours of Le Mans race will be broadcasted live as well.
Global celebrations also see museum exhibitions at Los Angeles, Austria, and Switzerland. These will conclude in the ‘Rennsport Reunion’ car festival in California at the end of September.
In addition to the brand’s 75th anniversary, it’s also celebrating the diamond jubilee of its seminal 911. This also coincides with the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, Porsche is the only uninterrupted participant since 1951. In that time, the brand has accumulated 110 class and 19 overall victories.
“75 years of Porsche stand for pioneering spirit, passion, and dreams,” shares Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.
