Vantage Automotive, the authorised distributor for BYD passenger cars in Singapore, has appointed Motor-East Pte Ltd as a new official dealer

SINGAPORE

The authorised distributor for BYD passenger cars in Singapore, Vantage Automotive, has appointed a new official dealer partner, Motor-East Pte Ltd, which is part of Motorway Group of Companies. The arrangement will see Motor-East retail BYD passenger cars from its premises at the Motorway building in Toa Payoh.

The move comes on the back of an extremely successful year for BYD in Singapore, with the brand chalking up a whopping 783% year-on-year increase in sales in 2022 over the preceding year, enabling it to garner a 2.34% market share for passenger EVs here. The move to appoint a new authorised dealer is an indication of Vantage’s ambitions to target even more growth for 2023.

“This appointment is a signal of our intent and commitment to reach new heights for the BYD brand in Singapore as we expand our reach and operations here,” said Mr Anthony Teo, Managing Director of Vantage Automotive

Mr Raymond Lim, Managing Director of Motor-East Pte Ltd, adds, “We are excited to enter this partnership with Vantage Automotive and are committed to bringing more success to the BYD brand in Singapore.”

BYD recently introduced a new COE Cat A-eligible variant of its Atto 3 electric crossover in Singapore, and it is planning to add two new models, the Dolphin and Seal, to its lineup later in 2023.
