Volkswagen ID 4 to feature in upcoming Marvel Studios Ant-Man movie

The all-electric SUV features in the upcoming Ant-Man movie as the superhero’s family car

WOLFSBURG, GERMANY

In preparation for Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, the film studio has worked with Volkswagen to create a 40 second spot featuring the all-electric ID 4 SUV.

The car features in the movie as the superhero’s family car, and will be hitting movie theatres across the globe on February 17. The spot will run on social media, TV, and movie theatres and features Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and his daughter, Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) in a staged sequence with the ID 4.

Gilbert Heise, Head of Global Brand Management and Consumer Insights at Volkswagen shares “The Ant-Man character is a perfect fit for our brand: he is likeable, authentic, and has a great sense of humour.”

We saw the ID 4 at the Singapore Motor Show!

The ad was developed and produced by Volkswagen, the Walt Disney Studios partnerships team, and Bullitt, and was directed by long-time Marvel Studios collaborator Anthony Leonardi III.

A behind-the-scenes featurette will also give viewers an inside look into the making of the film, with a placement of the ID 4 during production of the film.

Salim Yüksel who heads Future Trends, Strategic Partnerships, and Global Branded Entertainment at Volkswagen shares that “Nowadays, emotional storytelling through this kind of cooperation is enormously important for brands.”
