The Ioniq 5 Robotaxi will be the company’s first commercial autonomous vehicle in a bid towards a more sustainable future

SINGAPORE

Hyundai Motor Group showcased how its advanced mobility innovations can evolve and contribute to sustainable growth in urban cities of the future with its Hydrogen Fuel Cell Tram and the Ioniq 5 Robotaxi at the Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition 2022 (SITCE 2022).

The fourth edition of SITCE – LTA-UITP Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition were held at Suntec City Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from 2 to 4 November 2022 and are one of Asia’s most recognised events in the urban mobility space.

The all-electric Ioniq 5-based Robotaxi is the brand’s first commercial autonomous vehicle. The Robotaxi is said to represent the fusion of electrification and autonomy which according to Hyundai Rotem Company, can make transportation smarter, safer, and more sustainable for the future.

Also on show was the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Tram, which does not emit pollutants other than water and does not require electric power supply facilities, while producing enough clean air for 170 adults for every hour when in operation.

Plus, Hyundai Rotem Company previewed trains for Singapore’s seventh MRT line with the use of scale models. Planned for use on the Jurong Region Line, they claim high energy efficiency with the use of regenerative energy and will be serving both existing and future developments in the western part of Singapore.
