Mr Daren Ching will take the helm as head of MINI Asia as Mr Kidd Yam steps up to be BMW Asia’s Director of Corporate Affairs.

There’s been a changing of the guard within the ranks at BMW Group Asia.

Mr Kidd Yam, who is the incumbent Head of MINI Asia, is taking on the role of Corporate Affairs Director. Replacing him as Head of MINI Asia will be Mr Daren Ching (pictured above), who is stepping out of his role as Director for Marketing.

Mr Ching joined the BMW Group Asia team in 2005 and has a wealth of experience working in sales and marketing for several regional markets.

“This is a great opportunity for Mr Ching to leverage his experience in the region and help drive growth for the MINI brand as they prepare for the next chapter in their story,” said Mr Nielsen, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia.

As he relinquishes his role as Head of MINI Asia, Mr Yam will take on the role of Director of Corporate Affairs for BMW Group Asia. Mr Yam’s journey with BMW began when he joined BMW Malaysia back in 2010 before he relocated to Singapore to take on the lead role at MINI Asia. He will replace Ms Preeti Gupta as Director of Corporate Affairs for BMW Group Asia.

Ms Gupta has helmed the role of Corporate Affairs Director since she joined BMW Group Asia in 2016, and she will now be taking on the role of Sales Channel and Network Development Director, taking over from Mr Lee Hwee Siong who will be relocating to Vietnam to be the new Head of Business Development in Vietnam.

The personnel changes will take effect on the first of July 2023.
