Lamborghini Super Trofeo - a weekend of thrills at Sepang

So there was once when we went to Sepang for the opening round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia. We get into the action over the race weekend!

When Lamborghini invited us trackside to watch Super Trofeo Asia in action, we couldn’t say no. The famed Malaysian race track is no stranger to me, since I have tracked a few cars there myself. But what was truly surreal was the part where we were given the opportunity to get close to the cars, while during the race itself.
But what is Lamborghini Super Trofeo?
Think of it as a race series for Amateur (AM), Pro-Amateur (Pro-Am) and Professional (Pro) drivers to compete on a single platform. Lamborghini regional head, Francesco Scardaoni, who was at the event, mentioned that the race series is an inclusive one, where the youngest driver is 17, and the oldest is around 70 years of age.
Super Trofeo began back in 2009, when Lamborghini fielded the Gallardo as the base platform. Today, the racing series utilises the Huracan as the car of choice. Scardaoni adds that each Huracan Super Trofeo car platform starts from around €250,000.
The race series is run concurrently in Asia, Europe and North America. The Lamborghini World Final, the last race, will be held between 16 to 17 November in Spain, at the famed Jerez De La Frontera Circuit.
So since we were on-site, we had a chance to snag some photos of the two races.
