Kitzbühel, Austria — Luxury limo builder Bentley Motors has opened the doors to its first mountain lodge, calling it a “new concept of living the Bentley essence”.

The hotel in Kitzbühel, Austria was originally a forester’s lodge that was built in 1919 — the same year as Bentley’s founding. It’s being managed by Bentley Motors together with hotelier Richard Hauser.

During the peak winter season it costs €1480 (S$2,324) per night to stay there, with a minimum of a whole week’s booking. Don’t worry if that’s a stretch; during a cheaper season you can stay there for only €780 (S$1,225) a night.

The lodge only hosts up to eight guests at any given time, and is said to be a prime place from which to catch international events like the Hahnenkammrace skiiing race, an ATP tennis tournament or, best of all, the Alpenrallye classic car event.

But Bentley intends to use it to showcase for its cars. Staying there is like being in one of its fine machines, it says. “The Bentley lodge Kitzbühel is inspired by the techniques, the materials and the finishes that characterise Bentley’s renowned car interiors,” the company said in a statement. “The designers and architects combined regional, traditional and modernist designs and materials, injecting a little of the spirit of the British gentleman driver.”

Presumably, the general idea is that you’ll be so taken with the experience of staying at the hotel that you’ll want to take it home with you in the form of a new car.

“The interior of each car is trimmed with the finest supple leather, hand-finished wood veneers, gleaming metals and deep-pile carpets and at the Bentley Lodge Kitzbühel we give our customers the opportunity to experience these materials first hand and commission their very own Bentley,” says Robert Engstler, the brand’s regional director for Europe.

Intrigued? Sorry, but the Bentley Lodge is only for “customers and friends of the brand”. Money isn’t everything, you know.
