There are nine Singapore songs in this music video. How many can you name?

SINGAPORE – Take five singers, nine Singapore songs and, for some reason, a Volkswagen Kombi and you have this heartfelt medley by an a capella group calling themselves VolksInAWagen.

With SG50 fever running high they’ve understandably chosen to combine their love for singing with their affection for local music in this video.

“Over 50 years there have been many songs that have touched the hearts of Singaporeans,” says the introduction on the VWSingapore YouTube page, where the video is posted. “As a tribute to Singapore’s 50th year as a nation, VolksInAWagen brings you the music that celebrates the spirit of being one people, one nation, one Singapore.”

As for the VW Kombi in the vid, everyone knows that real bands have vans to go on the road with.

VolksInAWagen’s members are Ang Yi Feng, Cherie Chai, Hewlett Chew, Choy Siew Woon and Dionne Lim.

The singers’ love for the nation and its music comes through as they transition seamlessly from one Singapore song to the next, but the real question is, how many of the local pieces featured in the medley can you name?
