First seen in 2012 as a concept, the Urus, Lamborghini’s first ever SUV is in production and expected to hit roads in the next three years.
With the Urus joining Lambo’s fleet, this would make it the third vehicle after the Aventador and Huracan. It will be based on the same platform used by the next-gen of Audi Q7, as well as Bentley’s new SUV.
Meant to signify a new era for the Italian brand, the SUV will be also be “Made Italy”, at its HQ Sant’Agata Bolognese in Italy.
Its current production facility in Sant’Agata Bolognese will grow by 70,000 square metres and will include new facilities, like a new production line, warehousing and a bigger research and development department, creating about five hundred new long-term jobs in total.
This is a good move seeing the performance car company builds about 3000 SUVs every year as more former car owners opt for the bigger and better SUV.

The luxury sports car maker will have invested hundreds of millions of Euros over the lifecycle of its new SUV. Since the price tag for developing a new vehicle usually starts around the one billion mark, we assume that the bulk of the cost will be covered by Audi.
VW owns Audi, which in turn is the parent company of Lamborghini.
Undoubtedly, the Volkswagen Group and Audi will be involved and working together with the entire automobili Lamborghini team.
This is yet another SUV set to hit the market, with Land Rover introducing all-new models this year, according to the brands’ local dealer Wearnes Automotive.
