Singapore – Porsche’s 911 Carrera GTS and Cayenne GTS will be launched this evening.

The GTS models are positioned above the S (such as the Panamera S reviewed here) models in terms of sportiness but below the ‘hardcore’ GT models like the GT3. As such, GTS variants are typically more expensive, slightly more powerful and well-equipped than an S model.

The launch of the two GTS models follows the debut of the first-ever GTS versions of the Porsche Boxster and Cayenne in Singapore. Check out what we thought of the Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS here in our first drives.

Powering the Carrera GTS is a 3.8-litre flat-six engine similar to the one found in the Carrera S, mated to a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.

A new air intake on the GTS engine allows it to churn out 430bhp (30bhp more than the Carrera S) and 440Nm of torque, making it capable of launching from a standstill to 100km/h in four seconds flat (add two-tenths of a second for the Convertible model) as compared to 4.5 seconds for the Carrera S. The Carrera GTS will max out at Autobahn-worthy speed, specifically, 304km/h.

Fuel efficiency figures are 12.2L/100km and CO2 emission figures stand at 202g/km. The Carrera GTS has front Macpherson strut suspension with anti-roll bars up in front and a multi-link suspension will be found at the back, similarly, with anti-roll bars, too.

As befitting a more expensive GTS model, it possesses a decent load of equipment: LED main headlights in black with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), 20-inch wheels, a sports exhaust system and a Sports Chrono Package amongst the standard features. Both the 911 and Cayenne GTS also have special interior accents (unique upholstery, GTS badging, red sticthing) to denote their status.

The Cayenne GTS  possesses 440bhp and 600Nm of torque, courtesy of the 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, mated to an eight -speed automatic gearbox. The big SUV completes the century sprint in 5.2 seconds and will hurtle on to a top speed of 262km/h. Efficiency figures are fuel consumption at 13.0L/100km and CO2 emissions of 231g/km.

For the Cayenne GTS, factory-equipped features include bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and larger air intakes as compared to the Cayenne Turbo. It too, like the Carrera GTS, will feature 20-inch wheels, and will have the Sports Design package coming as standard.

The Porsche Carrera 911 GTS is currently available for $565,188 without COE while the Cayenne GTS retails at $486, 888 without COE.
