2nd-gen of Porsche’s luxury limousine launches in Singapore with Panamera, 4S and Turbo kicking off the range

Singapore – March 22, 2017 sees the launch of the new, second-generation Porsche Panamera luxury limousine here.

Porsche Singapore and authorised dealer Stuttgart Auto launched the new luxury limousine at large-scale event this evening, held at Marina Bay Sands, which saw attendance of approximately 1,000 guests. 

If you’re wondering, there’s a Porsche Panamera Turbo hiding somewhere under there….

The model line-up at launch consists of four models: The standard Panamera, the Panamera 4S, Panamera 4S diesel and range-topping Panamera Turbo.  

Porsche Panamera $360,388 without COE/options 
330bhp, 450Nm, 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo, top speed 264km/h, 0-100km/h 5.7 seconds, 7.5L/100km, 171g/km CO2

While it looks much like its predecessor, continuing Porsche’s design approach of evolution over revolution, it’s actually a very different beast under the skin. The Panamera debuts the new MSB platform tech, which will also underpin future VW Group luxury offerings, possibly the next Audi A8 and Bentley Continental. The new car’s aluminium skin and high-strength steel construction save 70kg over the outgoing model.

Porsche Panamera 4S Diesel $556,988 without COE/options 
422bhp, 850Nm, 4.0-litre V8 turbodiesel, all-wheel drive, top speed 285km/h, 0-100km/h 4.5 seconds, 6.28/100km, 178g/km CO2

Likewise the suspension systems are almost totally new, with active suspension, active roll bars, air suspension and four-wheel steering offered together for the first time, and all overseen by Porsche’s new ‘4D Chassis Control’ networked dynamics system.

Porsche Panamera 4S $543,188 without COE/options
440bhp, 550Nm, 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo, all-wheel drive, top speed 289km/h, 0-100km/h 4.4 seconds, 8.2L/100km, 186g/km CO2

Porsche says the engines are totally new and carry nothing over from previous iterations, and are now mated to the latest eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.

While the car has only just launched here in Singapore, new variants are already on the horizon, including the long-wheelbase Executive model, the wagon Sport Turismo and the new range-topping Turbo S E-Hybrid with a staggering 680bhp (see folllowing story).

Porsche Panamera Turbo $711,688 without COE/options 
550bhp, 770Nm, 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo, all-wheel drive, top speed 306km/h, 0-100km/h 3.8 seconds, 9.4L/100km, 214g/km CO2

The Panamera Turbo unveiled with a literally huge song and dance.

The new variants, as well as the plug-in hybrid Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, are expected to be launched here this year.

Pricing for the new variants has already been listed on the Porsche Singapore website. To give a rough idea of the premiums, the Panamera 4S Executive goes for $592,788, while the 4S Sport Turismo is priced at $563,488.
