Charging your electric vehicle (EV) is now a convenient and seamless affair thanks to SP Group’s extensive charging network in Singapore

Electric vehicles (EVs) are very much the way forward, as they play a big part towards creating a cleaner and greener transportation ecosystem for the future. And indeed, as part of the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the government is encouraging the adoption of EVs by offering a slew of incentives designed to make EVs more acceptable to the population here.

SP Group’s Charging Network is island-wide

If you’re thinking of taking the plunge into EV ownership, one of your concerns could be charging. But with SP Group’s growing network of public chargers in Singapore, charging your EV is now convenient, seamless and accessible.

SP Group provides a truly fuss-free EV charging experience, with the largest public fast charging network in Singapore. There are currently more than 480 SP charging points at over 100 locations all across Singapore, with plans to rapidly expand the network even further in the years ahead to meet the growing demands.

SP Group Chargers deliver quick charging

A number of SP Group’s chargers offer up to 100kW in fast charging capability, which allows you to quickly charge your EV from 20% to 80% in as little as 30 minutes, depending on the make and model of your EV. This means that you can get your EV charged in around the same time that it would take for you to have a quick meal, or do some grocery shopping.

SP Group chargers are super simple to use

Using SP Group’s charging network is a simple and seamless affair too. Simply download the SP app, and search for the nearest or most convenient charging point available to you. At the charging station, simply scan the QR code located at the charging point after you’ve plugged in your car, and start charging.

While charging, you can view your charging session on the app. and it will also send you notifications to update you on the charging status, while you can end the session any time through the app. Once charging has stopped, you can view your payment details, and you only pay for what you use, with no additional fees or charges.

SP Group’s charging points are located in places such as shopping malls, places of leisure, hotels, industrial and commercial buildings, making SP Group’s charging network highly accessible to EV owners.

SP Group also offers residential EV charging solutions such as installation of EV chargers in private condominiums under a zero-upfront cost model. SP can help you navigate your electrification journey, including putting together a comprehensive proposal for consideration by the condominium council, providing expert guidance on where to best place the charging points, and much more.

SP Group’s software system allows residents to view the availability of the chargers in the estate and also in SP Group’s public charging network in real time so that residents can charge with ease. It also has different subscription plans to cater to residents’ different charging needs with the advantage of price certainty for the duration of the contract period.

With the combination of SP Group’s extensive public fast charging network providing high accessibility and the ability of having EV chargers at home, charging with SP Group is a natural choice.

How easy and convenient is it to use SP Group’s charging network in Singapore?

To illustrate the convenience of SP Group’s EV charging network in Singapore, here’s a sample case study to highlight the typical daily routine of an EV driver in Singapore, and how the easy accessibility of SP Group’s chargers make for a truly seamless EV driving experience.

We’ll use the example of the MG ZS EV, which has an electric driving range of 335km on a full charge, and is able to charge from 5 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes using DC charging. With an average daily commute distance of about 30km a day, this would equate to about 10 days’ worth of driving before the batteries run out.

Assuming a typical HDB dweller residing in Ang Mo Kio, and working in the CBD, that would mean an average driving distance of about 15km for your daily morning commute. While that still leaves plenty of range available if you’re starting on a full charge, there are a number of choices available too if you want to recharge your EV.

Along Shenton Way, there are SP Group chargers located in commercial buildings like UIC Building, Asia Square Tower 2, and SGX Centre 2. Closer to Raffles Place, there are also chargers located at Republic Plaza and Capitaspring. So there’s clearly no shortage of options to recharge your EV’s batteries while at work.

Alternatively, you can also choose a quick top up while you’re out for lunch, and you can easily do so by plugging it in at an SP Group charger that’s available in shopping malls such as Marina Square, Vivocity or Great World City. In the time it takes for a quick meal, the EV will have its batteries refilled to nearly full charge.

Even if one is required to drive regularly around Singapore for work, such as to meet business clients for example, charging your EV should be a straightforward and fuss-free affair. SP Group’s chargers can be found in commercial areas such as Changi Business Park, Science Park in Buona Vista, and International Business Park in Jurong, as well as industrial facilities such as Techlink and Techview in Kaki Bukit, and Techplace in Ang Mo Kio.

Charging your EV during the weekends is a seamless experience too, with SP Group’s chargers available at heartland shopping malls such as IMM and Bukit Panjang Plaza, meaning that you can get your car topped up while you do your weekly shopping. They are also located at leisure spots such as the Singapore Zoo and Orchid Country Club, allowing you to get a full charge for your EV while you’re out enjoying your weekend activities with your family.

Regardless of whether you’re at work or play or at home, there will always be an SP Group charger near you, allowing you to recharge your EV quickly, conveniently and easily.
