Another EV brand comes to Singapore! The XPENG G6 Coupe SUV unveiled in the middle of the CBD

SINGAPORE

XPENG is the next Chinese EV brand to reach our shores. Founded in 2014 in Guangzhou, China, XPENG has become a global leader in electric vehicles.

The Chinese EV brand’s first offering, which is the mid-size G6 coupe SUV, With sets its sights on the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron (here’s our first drive in Germany with the SUV variant), BMW iX3, Mercedes-EQ EQC and the Tesla Model Y; which is an already crowded market.

The slippery-looking G6, is an ultra-smart electric coupe SUV, which sits on the SEPA2.0 platform, which features 800V architecture, is capable of super-fast charging, with a charging capacity of 280kW. This allows a 10 to 80-percent battery charge in under 20 minutes, which is among the fastest the industry offers. The G6 is available in two battery options, a 66 kWh and longer-range 87.5 kWh battery, the latter provides a WLTP range of up to 570km, which translates to around a week’s worth of driving in Singapore. At launch, the XPENG G6 is available in two variants – the RWD standard range and RWD long range. For now, (at least) Singapore will not receive the AWD variants.

Prospective buyers will be delighted to discover that the G6 comes equipped with a comprehensive list of creature comfort features and useful tech. Among these, it has two 50W wireless charging points, which features cooling for smartphones. The infotainment system also operates on XPENG’s latest Xmart OS. The XPILOT driver assistance system includes state-of-the-art behaviour and motion prediction within its architecture. Occupant comfort is also high on the design brief, as it is equipped with ergonomic seats, 8-way power adjustment, and 4-way lumbar support. Front passengers also benefit from seat ventilation. Audio is taken care of via a premium 960W 18-speaker Xopera sound system.

To entice buyers, XPENG is in an exclusive tie-up with UOB, and offers UOB customers an additional S$5,000 discount on top of pre-launch privileges exceeding S$10,000. XPENG is also in collaboration with local F&B brands such as Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery and Whiskdom, offering exclusive flavours inspired by XPENG, throughout the weekend for visitors to savour while exploring the G6.

The XPENG brand here is officially distributed by XPREMIUM BEV Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Premium Automobiles Pte Ltd. The latter has been the exclusive distributor of Audi cars in Singapore since 1999.

The pop-up event is on from 24th July 2024 onwards at UOB Plaza 2. Operating hours are from Monday to Saturday ,9am – 7pm, and 10am – 6pm on Sunday.
