The Polestar 4 is here. A quirky four-door coupe-suv, it is available in two variants, the Long Range Single Motor and Long Range Dual Motor. Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar highlighted that the Polestar 4 introduces a fresh perspective on SUV Coupe design, which also puts the recently-launched Porsche Macan in its crosshairs. Instead of just tweaking the existing Polestar 3 SUV with a sleeker roofline, Polestar is curating it from scratch to prioritise rear occupant comfort and enjoyment. In-fact, both the Polestar 3 and 4 share very little from the ground up. The 3 sits on the Volvo-based Scalable Product Architecture platform (SPA2), while the 4 is built upon Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA).

For a start, the Polestar 4 adopts dual blade headlights with 32 individually controlled pixel LEDs – these help to adjust automatically to traffic and lighting conditions, ensuring optimal visibility while avoiding glare for other drivers. A standout feature of the Polestar 4 is the absence of a traditional rear windshield. They have, however, introduced a spacious panoramic sunroof throughout the car, which provides occupants, especially those at the rear with additional light within the cabin. Meanwhile, an external pair of rear-facing cameras streams what is happening behind the car onto the rear-view mirror.

The Geely-based SEA in the case of the Polestar 4, provides a long 2,999mm wheelbase, which translates to ample legroom for the occupants. Polestar has also infused the interior with additional cosmic elements, through ambient lighting themes. The occupants can select a range of planets including Earth, Jupiter and Saturn, to personalise the interior ambient colour scheme.

The infotainment system is powered by the Android Automotive OS, which sits on the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. As opposed to the Polestar 2 and 3, the 4 now utilises a 15.4-inch screen in landscape-format. Over-the-air updates will keep the infotainment system current, with new features being added when available.

The Polestar 4 will arrive in Singapore, and buyers can expect the cars to be highly-specced, with many standard goodies such as a Harman Kardon premium sound system, electronically-adjusting front and rear seats, auto-dimming exterior mirrors and rear control screen with three-zone climate control. Buyers opting for the Dual Motor variant have the option to configure it with the Performance pack – which includes swanky 22-inch forged performance wheels, Brembo brakes and Swedish-gold brake callipers, valve caps and seat belts.

The Long Range Single Motor variant generates 268hp and 343Nm, pushing the car from 0-100 in 7.1-seconds while the Long Range Dual Motor variant has 536hp and 686Nm, delivering the benchmark century sprint in a blistering 3.8-seconds. Both variants utilise a 100kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 590km and 620km respectively.

Indicative prices for the Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor variant and Long Range Dual Motor variant are at S$195,000 and S$245,000 without COE respectively.
