2021 Suzuki Ignis Review: Out of the box

Design and Appearance

The Ignis drops straight into the current automotive trend with a crossover SUV styled body. The boxy styling is accented with plenty of angular lines over its form so that it doesn’t look too much like a box on wheels. Chrome plated accents highlight much of the front end of the car, and at just 3700mm in length this is a very compact little car.

The rear wheels are situated right at the extreme ends of the chassis, which should give it great stability.

There is a unique daytime running light shape in the headlight assemblies and interestingly, a lot of the intake vents on the front grille are shaped to direct airflow downwards rather than straight into the engine compartment. Our guess that this allows for better aerodynamic efficiency on what is already a very boxy body shape.

It doesn’t ride very high off the ground, but the view from inside is pretty good and in certain colour combinations the Ignis looks like a big military jerry can on wheels. This is helped along by the ‘gills’ on the C-pillars which are really just there for styling and have no practical purpose.

Also, you can order the car in a dazzling array of 18 different colour combinations.
