CarBuyer Singapore is pleased to announce its very first Car Of The Year awards event, which in true CarBuyer fashion, is not about the cars, nor the brands, but you – the readers. 

CarBuyer has been bringing Singaporeans quality, authoritative motoring content for decades, thanks to its crack team of experienced writers. With its evolution into a full new and used car marketplace, we decided it was high time to reward our readers further – by answering the most common question we get: Which is the best car? 

What’s so special about CarBuyer’s COTY? 

It’s by us, obviously. Jokes aside, our COTY is much like our content – it’s been designed with the readers in mind.

The CarBuyer editorial team has temporarily fused into a singular hivemind with a hunger for tyres and car knowledge, and shortlisted the most worthy cars they tested in 2022. But it’s up to only one multi-brained entity to vote for the winner: Our readers.

In our true reader-centric way, we’ve kept our COTY very digestible and easy to understand. There are eight categories, each shaped with a specific purpose in mind. There’s a main COTY award, as mentioned above, for our overall winner, with seven other sub-categories:

– Fun To Drive
– Best Family Car
– Funky x Fashionable
– Best Luxury Car

But on the whole the COTY awards are all about letting regular Singaporean carbuyers know what’s best, including those who want maximum bang for the buck, those who are eco-conscious, or those who just wanna have wheely good time.

The nominees cover cars that the CarBuyer team actually tested and reviewed in 2022. We’ve nominated more than 40 cars across the eight categories, and they span all budgets, brands, and segments, ranging from some of the most affordable cars around to dream machines.
