Ducati’s Dakar-style, first ‘proper’ off-road adventure bike is here and priced at S$58,700 on-the-road

SINGAPORE

Ducati Singapore has launched its newest model, which also happens to be the brand’s first proper off-road motorcycle. The motorcycle costs S$58,700 on-the-road, inclusive of road tax, COE, but without insurance.

The new DesertX looks quite unlike anything Ducati has made before, and that’s because it channels the spirit of Dakar motorcycles and off-roading very clearly. In this case, its spiritual successor is the 1990 Cagiva Elefant, which Ducati supplied the engine for.

The new bike has a 937cc L-twin engine (as found on the Ducati Supersport and Multistrada V2) which makes 110hp.

Standard on the motorcycle is a vertical 5.0-inch digital display, six riding modes including a new Enduro mode, fully-adjustable KYB suspension, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Dual tyres. There’s a full load of rider assistance systems including Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, Cornering ABS, Quickshifter Up & Down and Cruise Control.
