New DS 3 launched, Singapore arrival to be confirmed

The successor to the DS 3 Crossback sees a fully electric version – Singapore arrival TBC
PARIS, FRANCE
DS Automobiles have introduced the new DS 3 at the Paris Motor Show. The successor to the DS 3 Crossback, the new DS 3 is being offered in Europe in three drivetrains: electric, petrol, and diesel.
On the whole though, the most obvious developments sits on the DS 3’s new face, with a redesigned grille that’s wider and enhanced with gloss black or chromed diamond tips, depending on the model. The DS wings also join the grille and the LED headlamps, which are standard across the range.
DS Matrix LED Vision with intelligent control and automatic main beam are offered as an option. Daytime running lights in the DS 3 are also new, with two LED lines vertically arranged on either side of the front for a wide and distinct signature.
The DS 3 also sports a redesigned spoiler for optimum aerodynamic performance, with aerofoils framing the lower air intake grille for efficiency.
The wheels have been redesigned as well for efficiency, and are available in either 17 or 18 inches.
The DS 3 is offered in seven colours, including two new pearlescent colours: Lacquered Grey, and Diva Red which is exclusive to the new DS 3.
Flush fitting door handles also allow for hands-free access and starting system. Upon approach (within 1.5m), the DS 3 will unlock fold out, while walking away will fold in the handles and lock the car.
Interior
The DS 3 adopts a new steering wheel, with driver aid controls and infotainment buttons regrouped with combined gearshift paddles for automatic gearboxes.
A 10.3 inch infotainment screen sits in the centre and comes standard with DS Iris System built in. Users can personalise the central screen and 7 inch instrument panel, and features can be controlled via advanced voice recognition system, or touch controls on the central pad.
Driver aids such as Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Active Safety Brake come standard in the new DS 3.
Seats in the DS 3 have heating, massage, and electric functions. The top of the range Opera model features a Basalt Black Nappa Leather interior with watchstrap seats.
Drivetrains
The DS 3 E-Tense gets a new electric motor and battery, for increased efficiency and range. Making use of an electric hybrid synchronous motor, it puts out 115kW (156hp) and 260Nm of torque with a 54kWh battery.
100kW DC charging will take the DS 3 E-Tense from 10 to 80-percent in 30 minutes. On the WLTP combined cycle, the DS 3 manages up to 404km of range.
The petrol drivetrains meanwhile come in the PureTech 100 with a six-speed manual, and the PureTech 130 with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel BlueHDi 130 is also available with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Connectivity
The DS 3 can also be controlled via the MyDS app, with users able to view the range and level of charge for the E-Tense. Climate control and pre-conditioning can also be controlled, along with the feature to search your destination on your phone and send it to the DS 3’s infotainment system.
We’ve reached out to official DS Automobile distributor in Singapore for word on if/when the DS 3 will be available in Singapore, and are awaiting a response.
