BYD is previewing its Denza D9 luxury MPV at a roadshow at Suntec City Mall in Singapore this weekend, along with its facelifted Atto 3

SINGAPORE

BYD is previewing its Denza D9 at a roadshow at Suntec City Mall this weekend, along with the rest of the BYD range that includes a facelifted Atto 3 crossover. The roadshow is taking place at the same time as the 2024 Singapore Motorshow, just a short distance away at the Suntec Convention Centre.

The Denza D9 is a luxury MPV that was first unveiled in 2022, and Denza is a sub-brand that was first conceived as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, although BYD has since taken a majority stake in the company. The D9 is available as a plug-in hybrid and a full battery EV (BEV) in its domestic market in China, although it is likely that only the BEV version will be made available here when it arrives in the later part of this year.

As an EV, the D9 comes in both front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive guises, and a number of variants that offer electric driving ranges that span from between 520km to 620km. BYD’s official distributor in Singapore, Vantage Automotive, did not disclose which version or spec of the D9 that will be bringing in, nor any indicative pricing, but it is expected to cost close to 300 grand with COE, or around on par with similar large electric MPVs in the market like the Maxus Mifa 9 and the MG M9 EV, the latter of which was also launched at the Singapore Motorshow.

Also at BYD’s roadshow at Suntec is the updated Atto 3 crossover, which gets a mild facelift that includes a new larger 15-inch infotainment touchscreen (up from 12.3-inches before), and revised badging on the tailgate that now reads ‘BYD’ instead of spelling out the company’s name ‘Build Your Dreams’ in full. Pricing starts from S$136,888 inclusive of COE, although there are further deals to be had for the duration of the roadshow weekend.
