The Polestar 4 is now available in Europe and Australia, and is scheduled to launch in Singapore later this year.

The much-anticipated Polestar 4 is now on sale in Europe and Australia, and is set to launch in Singapore by Q3 2024 alongside the Polestar 3.

According to the premium EV marque, production of their latest electric crossover will begin sometime in the middle of this year, with deliveries expected from August onwards.

As mentioned in our first look back in 2023, two forms of the Polestar 4 will be manufactured: the rear-wheel drive Long Range Single Motor (LRSM), and the more powerful all-wheel drive Long Range Dual Motor (LRDM). Both have since been confirmed for the Singapore market.

With a 100 kWh battery pack powering both long-range versions, the LRSM pushes out 272 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque, while the LRDM produces 544 horsepower with 686 Nm of torque. The single-motor variant also has an estimated range of 610 km WLTP, while you can expect about 580 km WLTP from the LRDM.

The Polestar 4 presents many firsts for the automaker. Most obvious is its exterior design, which sees the removal of a rear windscreen in order to maximise headroom space at the back. At the same time, this allows the car to record an impressively slippery drag coefficient figure of Cd 0.269.

Also found in the Polestar 4 is the SuperVision Advanced Driver Assistance System from Mobileye, which introduces a total of 12 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 1 radar sensor to form a comprehensive intelligent safety suite. One key functionality to expect from this system is a driver monitoring camera that detects the alertness level of the driver, and prompts him/her to stay actively engaged in driving.

Several optional extras will be made available for the Polestar 4. Performance Pack, for example, offers performance chassis tuning by Polestar Engineered, four-pot Brembo brakes, 22-inch wheels, and Swedish gold details on various parts of the car.

On the other hand, Plus Pack offers comfort and technology upgrades. You can look forward to having animal welfare-secured Nappa leather upholstery with ventilation and massage functions, and even additional speakers for the front-seat headrests and rear comfort headrests.

While Polestar has yet to disclose final pricing details for the Singapore market, we expect the Polestar 4 to carry a price tag in the mid-S$300k region based on present COE prices.
