BYD Dolphin

Hot on the successful heels of the BYD Atto 3, the Chinese brand is moving forwards with the arrival of the BYD Dolphin, a small electric hatchback with a driving range of more than 400km per charge. It features a lot of the technology we’ve already seen in the Atto 3, including the free-floating centre entertainment screen.

Citroen E-C4

Think the Citroen C4 is cool? Then the E-C4 is here to impress you further. Built upon the same platform as the Peugeot e-2008 and Opel Mokka-e, the small urban crossover SUV is set to be Citroen’s main electric vehicle in Singapore.

Volkswagen ID4

After a long wait, Volkswagen Singapore has now joined the electric vehicle crowd with the release of multiple electric vehicles here. The Volkswagen ID4 is a crossover urban SUV that has been on sale in other parts of the world since 2020, so it’s only new to us here. Depending on battery capacity options, the car has a claimed maximum range of more than 500km.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

There are already plenty of the Ioniq 5 already on the roads in Singapore through various developmental and car-sharing programs, but the big news is that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is now officially going on sale here. The winner of the 2022 World Car Awards, it is the first vehicle built on Hyundai’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and local cars will be assembled in Singapore. The car supports 800-volt charging and can be charged from zero to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

Nissan Ariya

Another electric crossover SUV, the Nissan Ariya is the Japanese brand’s big EV. At more than 4.5 metres in length, it fits into the same broad space as the Nissan X-Trail SUV. Specifications have yet to be confirmed for Singapore, but in other markets the car can be bought with a battery capacity of up to 91kWh, which is good for a maximum range of 610km between charges. There are also single-motor 2WD and dual-motor 4WD options.

Subaru Solterra

Subaru is keen to promote the Solterra as an all-new electric vehicle, but the fact is that it shares the same platform as Toyota’s BZ4X. The similarities are not as obvious as the the twinning that goes on between the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86, but the Subaru Solterra touts better soft-roading dynamics with its adaptive all-wheel drive system.

Toyota BZ4X

We already drove the all-electric Toyota BZ4X and gave it a full review, but for the general public this is the first time that many will get a chance to get up close with Toyota’s electric mainstream crossover SUV. Locally sold versions will have a single-motor, front-wheel drive layout with 201 horsepower and a maximum quoted range of 450km.
