If you want something cool to do over this weekend, Volkswagen Group Singapore (VGS) brings you ‘Electric City’. Swing on by to get yourself acquainted with an array of electric vehicles, such as the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7 and the ID. Buzz. Enthusiasts will also be thrilled to know that the ID.4 and ID.5 GTX models are displayed at the event. We are not just going to let Volkswagen steal the limelight here… step across the showroom to Skoda, and check out their all new first-ever electric SUV, dubbed the Enyaq 85, and its performance sibling – the Enyaq Coupe RS. And guess what? CUPRA has also been reborn at VGS! The Born is their all-new 100-percent electric hatchback. 

Also, you can tuck into culinary delights from Mow Foodwagon, Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery, Cocoloco, and to have things as German as it gets, Paulaner Bräuhaus is also in the house!. – Lederhosen included! There is something for everyone, including workshops for the kids… and even treats for your pets.

In an effort to go fully electric by 2035, the Volkswagen Group is actively making a push to expand their range of EVs, ensuring that there is something for everyone.

So, here are some details for you to pour over…

Volkswagen ID.3

The Golf-sized Volkswagen ID.3 is the first electric vehicle based on the Modular Electric Drive (MEB) platform, which is used in all the ID vehicles today. Boot space at 385 litres, is  also similar to the iconic ICE hatchback. The ID.3 puts out 198bhp and 310Nm, driving the rear wheels. It has a claimed range of up to 426km.

Volkswagen ID.4 & ID.5

The Volkswagen ID.4 and its sister ID.5 are compact electric SUVs that mix practicality with a dash of performance. The ID.4 and ID.5 are about the size of the Tiguan, therefore they are definitely just about as practical. The SUVs put out 277bhp and 545Nm. In terms of styling cues, the ID.5 differs slightly from the ID.4… think of it as a fastback SUV/ Coupe SUV.

Volkswagen ID.7

If you do think that the ID.7 is Volkswagen’s electric answer to their ICE Passat, you are quite right. The tech-loaded Liftback boasts a ‘smart glass’ panoramic roof that toggles between transparent and opaque. It also features an augmented reality head-up display as a standard option.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz

The long-awaited spiritual successor to the Microbus, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is also part of the show. The retro-inspired all-electric Buzz, here is in 5-seater guise. It is family-friendly and also family-safe too, with it being equipped with multiple driver assist systems such as Travel Assist, featuring Swarm Data Utilisation, Assisted Lane-Changing and Park Assist Plus with memory function.

Škoda Enyaq

As with all Škoda cars, the Enyaq boasts simply clever touches, which would simply make you smile. There are three entrants from the Czech automaker, the Skoda Enyaq, Enyaq Coupé and the high-performance (yet practical) Enyaq Coupé RS. Easily identifiable by its Crystal Face grille, the Enyaq starts from $222,900.

CUPRA Born

The Born is CUPRA’s first electric entry under the VGS umbrella. On one end, the Born is a practical and spacious hatchback, and on the other, it is all hot hatch… and it looks the part… and it also delivers! Some numbers for you – 322hp and 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds. Fans of the brand can expect the Born to arrive on our shores in early 2025.
