To begin the process, your Condominium Management Agent must be informed that you wish to have EV charging points available on-site. Once an AGM Resolution is passed, SP Group will do the groundwork of navigating through the hoops of technical feasibility, including determining if there is sufficient power available in your development, and also how it should deploy its charging points, before presenting its proposal to the development’s Management Committee. These include locating a suitable tap-off point and cabling that will lead to the intended parking area.

Residential charging points, which usually range from 7.4 kW to 22 kW AC, are ideal for overnight charging. Which means you could plug-in the night before, and possibly not worry about unplugging, until the next morning before you leave for work. However, as considerate EV drivers, you’re highly encouraged to unplug your vehicle before 7 am to give others a chance to charge.

As condominium charging points are within a private network, this means that they are not accessible to the public. Therefore you need worry less about finding a charging point once you are parked at your own apartment complex.
