SINGAPORE

Vertex Automobile kicked off the opening of their revamped showroom, with the launch of their brand new Omoda E5 electric SUV. If you are unfamiliar with the Omoda brand, perhaps Chery would ring a bell. Omoda is one of two bands to debut here in Singapore, that Chery owns; the other being Jaecoo.

The Omoda E5 is tailored to cater to the distinct requirements of urban residents, blending practicality and modern design aesthetics.

According to Chery, the exterior of the Omoda E5 draws inspiration from the dynamic interplay of light and form, featuring the iconic ‘’X-Future Tech Front’’ and a unique double-layered tailfin that adds a sporty and futuristic flair. Step inside and you will be greeted with a massive 24.6-inch curved screen, which is split into a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch driver instrument display. The clean-looking cabin boasts eco-leather lining the steering wheel and seats. It also has ambient lighting, featuring a 64-colour palette. Audio comes from a premium eight-speaker Sony Audio System. There is also a suite of driver safety aids, that include a 360-degree HD panoramic camera, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which consists of Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Driver Monitoring System.

The Omoda E5 also comes equipped with a selection of standard options such as wireless mobile fast charging (50W), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also thrown into the mix, is their very own Intelligent Voice Assistant. The Omoda E5 is powered by a 61kWh battery, capable of delivering a range of 430km. The Omoda E5 puts out 201hp and 340Nm.

Energy consumption is rated at 15.5 kWh/100km. Fast charging from 30-percent to 80-percent takes 28 minutes, utilising a 80kW DC charger; while a full charge from empty, takes 8 hours via a 9.9kW AC charger.

The Omoda E5 comes in a variety of colours such as Meteor Gray, Aurora Green, Plasma Blue and Stardust Red, with prices starting from $179,888 with COE.
