EQE by Mercedes-EQ officially launched in Singapore; EQE 350+ priced at S$415,888 with COE, and EQE 43 AMG at S$513,888 with COE

SINGAPORE

Mercedes-EQ has officially launched the EQE electric luxury sedan in Singapore, with two models available for sale. The EQE 350+ version starts at S$415,888 inclusive of COE, while the top-spec EQE 43 4Matic AMG model goes for S$513,888 with COE.

The EQE was actually previewed earlier in October in EQE 350+ form, and you can check out our coverage and details of that specific car here. The official launch sees the EQE 350+ joined by the high performance EQE 43 4Matic AMG variant, while an even more powerful EQE 53 AMG is poised to join the line-up next year.

Externally, the EQE 43 AMG model is differentiated from the EQE 350+ via the different ‘grille’ design, with the EQE 43’s featuring vertical struts finished in chrome. The front and rear bumpers are also unique to the model, and are optimised for aerodynamic efficiency, while the AMG variant also gets a subtle rear boot lid spoiler, AMG specific brakes, and 21-inch wheels.

Inside, the biggest difference between the AMG model and the regular EQE is the MBUX Hyperscreen, which is the large triple screen system that stretches across the dashboard. It consists of the 12.3-inch driver instrument display, 17.7-inch central infotainment display, and the 12.3-inch passenger screen, all designed to look like an integrated one-piece item. Mercedes adds that unlike the EQS, the Hyperscreen will only be offered on the EQE 43 AMG model, with no availability even as an option for the EQE 350+.

Other AMG-specific detailing in the interior include the AMG sports seats, pedals and flat-bottomed steering wheel, all of which feature the AMG badging sprinkled liberally to remind you of the car’s top-rank status.

The EQE 43 AMG’s twin electric motors, one at each axle, combine to produce a total of 476hp and 858Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. This allows the car to go from 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds, and reach a top speed of 210km/h. Fully charged, the car offers a range of ‘up to’ 534km, while the car can also deliver up to 260kW of recuperation power to the 90.6kWh battery.

The EQE 43 AMG also features four-wheel-steering, much like its larger EQS sibling, as well as the AMG Ride Control+ adaptive air suspension system, and the AMG Dynamic Select driving program. The latter offers five various modes, namely Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual, with the first mode optimised for efficiency by offering half the car’s available power output, and Sport+ unlocking the EQE 43 AMG’s full power potential.

The official launch of the EQE in Singapore marks the end of a major electric onslaught for Mercedes-Benz in 2022, but the brand will be in for a far busier 2023 ahead, with up to 10 new models set for debut in Singapore in the year ahead. These include SUV versions of the EQS and EQE, as well as the all-new SL sports car which is rumoured to be set for a debut at January’s Singapore Motor Show.
