Mercedes-Benz is showcasing its EQG Concept at the 2024 Singapore Motorshow, which previews the upcoming electric G-Class

SINGAPORE

Mercedes-Benz is showcasing its Concept EQG at the 2024 Singapore Motorshow, taking place from 11 to 14 January 2024. The Concept EQG previews the upcoming all-electric G-Class, which is scheduled to be launched later this year, and the car is making its South East Asian debut at the show.

Claudius Steinhoff, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Singapore, says that “the Concept EQG embodies our brand’s approach to electrification – continuing our heritage of being inventors of the automobile, applying electrification knowhow and expertise, and going full-steam ahead in reinvigorating and future-proofing our entire model lineup.”

The concept car incorporates iconic elements of the classic G-Class, such as its angular shape and silhouette, while also featuring design touches that mark it out as an electric Mercedes-Benz, with highlights like the illuminated stripes around the car, and the two-tone paint finish. Mercedes-Benz also adds that the Concept EQG will feature four individually-controllable electric motors, one at each wheel, and will deliver a unique driving experience, both on and off road.

Aside from the Concept EQG, other highlights that will on display at the Mercedes-Benz booth include two AMG models, namely the C 63 S E Performance, and the EQE 53 SUV AMG. The updated Mercedes-Benz GLB will also be on the brand’s Suntec show booth, along with a host of other Mercedes-Benz models like the EQE, GLC, C-Class, GLA and CLA.
